1996 BENTLEY 'BROOKLANDS' SALOON SEDAN

Bentley Motors Ltd (VAG Group), while still under the Rolls-Royce leadership, produced 1208 of the Bentley Brooklands model over 7 years from 1992-1998. This model was named after Britain's famed race track during the 85th Year Celebration of the Bentley Marque and was subsequently fitted with the Turbo Grille.
This car cost over $156,000 when new and represents the Flagship of Conservative Ultra-Luxury Saloons. For 16 years old,  it is the epitome of 'mint' condition and is loaded with nearly every option imaginable. It comes complete with real (not faux) Wood Grain Dash and Door caps, Ample Leather on nearly every surface and carries the distinct World Class Look of the "Winged B" that can only  be " Bentley".
It has covered only 3,100 miles per in the last 15 years (45,156 miles). These are the cars owned by only the Rich and Famous- unattainable by most. Today, the good news is that they are unbelievably undervalued and represent the chance for many of us to own "The Ultimate in Luxury Hand-built Automobiles". This 1996 Bentley Brooklands comes finished in The Most Sought After Color: it's original, traditional British Racing Green paint with Parchment Hydes accented by Spruce Piping with Matching Headliner and Circassian Walnut Veneer. It is fitted with the 6.8L 413 c.i. / w/ stated horsepower as being "adequate" (+/-384hp) V8 , 4-Spd. Automatic, Fully Automatic Climate Control A.C., Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Tilt /Telescopic Steering Wheel, Tinted Glass, Dual Power Heated Memory Seats, Cruise Control, Front / Rear Vanity Lights, AM/FM/Alpine 6 CD Changer, Leather Dash Roll, Integrated Motorola Cell phone and more. This car is virtually new inside and out and has it's original Handbook and Jack. The Tires, Paint and Interior are all exemplary.
During this T-6 Series several improvements were made in 1996 which included the Automatic Electronic Dimming Rear-view Mirror, 6-disc CD Changer, 255/65VR 16 Alloy Wheels, Tilt Wheel and Wood Door covering the Radio System. The Dash was redesigned and the gauges are said to be the same as the R Model. The 1996 does not have the problematic, hyper-sensitive alarm system added to all the 1997 models. This vehicle was one of 8 in a Collection on Jupiter Island, Florida, where it was garaged (climate-controlled) all it's life, has never been smoked-in and was acquired from a repeat customer, who has purchased 6 cars from us, over the last 16 years. We just completed a hydraulic service, restoring the mirror casing, replacing 2 stolen lighters and drivers side original Wilton Wool Carpet (soiled). This remarkable car can be yours for 25% of the original purchase price :  need the room....reduced to cost: $37,500

  THE STORY

The Big News for 1996 would be Bill Clinton ( soon-to-be-named- child- pedophile) would be re-elected President, the First Democratic President to be elected two-full terms since Franklin Roosevelt. He  was assisted to success by running against Republican Bob Dole, whose campaign was filled with faux-paws and major error's like his lamb-basting Death-Metal Bands who hadn't existed for 10 years, falling off the Podium during a rousing speech in Chico, CA. and claiming on National TV that tobacco, was not, in fact, addictive. He way also assisted by Ross Perot who garnished almost 8% of the vote to a 'lost cause' campaign. Big Business would drive the coffin nail into the heart of quality Radio Broadcasting with the passage of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which lifted the limit on how many Radio Stations could be owned by the radio chains. On a large scale Radio subsequently became 'generic'.
This was the year a TWA Boeing 747 would explode over the Atlantic Ocean shortly after take-off, killing all 230 aboard. Rumors originally had it as a Terrorist Act but, it later to be determined a mechanical failure. Remember the 'Bomb in the Park' incident during the Summer Olympics' in Atlanta, GA.?? 1 killed, 100 injured. It was Ying-Yang luck for rappers Snoop Doggy Dog and Tupac Shakur. Calvin Broadus (Snoop Dogg) would finally be acquitted of murder charges while Tupac would be shot in a hail of bullets & die in Las Vegas-still unsolved today. By years end, Jon Benet Ramsey, 6 yr.old Beauty Pageant Winner, would be found dead in the families basement while her parents would be accused by the general public for complicity- just because they chose to 'lawyer-up'. Her death is still a mystery.  In the Movie Houses across America: "Fargo" would take home the bacon as the surprise flick of the year. A droll story, filled with supreme acting talent, of a pregnant Police Chief ( Frances McDormand) who stumbles on the gruesome, stumble-butt, murder of a car dealers' wife and Father. Short on substance but, big on Special Effects " Independence Day" and "Twister" would be the Most Popular Movies while Pamela Anderson would bare-all in "Barb Wire" and Demi Moore would be criticized for showing her rack in "Striptease"..... a movie about a young Mom forced to strip to pay her child custody attorney bills. Bob Dole, in another stroke of political genius, would criticize her acting efforts and then be forced to apologize after Political Trump Bruce Willis (Republican Party supporter & husband-at-the-time of Demi) would tell him to mind his own business. Top TV Shows were "Friends", "Seinfeld", "ER", and "Home Improvement". Best Picture would be "The English Patient" and Best Actress would be Frances McDormand ("Fargo"). Top Played Singles would be "One Sweet Day" with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, "Because You Loved Me"- Celine Dion and Mariah Carey "Always Be My Baby".

George Burns would die at 100 after a long bout with Cancer. "Tickle Me Elmo" would be the hot new Christmas kids' toy while "Cabbage Patch Snack time Kids" would be pulled from the toy shelves due to the fact the dolls mechanism enabled it to, not only eat plastic carrots & French fries but, also devour the little children's hair and finger tips that were feeding it, as well. The year would end with Plymouth producing a 100th Year Anniversary fiasco 'The Prowler' with beautiful Retro-Styling but an underpowered engine, and cockpit -good only- for little people. 1996 was definitely a Year To Remember.
