We had our last Chevrolet Silverado 'company truck' for 11 great years so, we have a special place in our hearts for these Old Beasts. The only repairs we ever made were maintenance: Oil Changes, a Power Window Motor and Brake services so, that made it easy to buy another great G.M. Product. Let's face it: even if The Ole General can't weather 'The Last Battle'... and 'Taking Boot Hill", this truck will make a Great Collector's Item. Plus, Up the fact Regency Conversions closed their doors in January 2009, after 28 years as America's Largest Vehicle 'Upfitter' (producing approx. 5,000 vehicles per year), it just results in the RST Sport Truck becoming a Great Future Collectable (Investment). Priced to sell at $29,500

THE STORY:

The Story goes, Chevrolet approached Jon H. Moss and Chip Foose to form a collaboration in 2004 to design a 'special' Chevrolet Truck from Regency Conversion's 250,000 sq. foot manufacturing facility in Fort Worth,Texas.  Moss is G.M.'s clone of Bill Mitchell. He has been involved with just about every "cool" vehicle built by General Motors in the past 20 years. Towering in at 6 ft. 7" Moss has been known as "Dr. Frankenstein" by his peers as he was in charge of the "Special Vehicles Department" at G.M. He is best known for his development of the CrossRam Manifold for the 1969 Camaro, several Concept/ Pace Cars for the Indy 500 Race, and in the 90's, for the 1994-1996 Impala Super Sports Sedans. In fact, he is considered by many as The Godfather of The Super Sports. He is also responsible for building the 700 h.p. ZL-1 Camaro which he match-raced against John Colletti's Boss-Powered Mustang at "The Toy Test". It is surmised that Moss/ Fooses' combined mission was to build a custom truck that parlayed Dodge's Super Bee, the Ford Lightning and the Chevrolet SSR. This Meeting Of The Minds' resulted in a short run of Factory Endorsed Custom made Chevy pickup's the likes of which you will never see again.

Under Moss' direction Regency built the Rally Sport Shortbed Truck decked out in White with Orange Stripes and Houndstooth Interior. They carried (only) a 4.8 V8 and Five Speed transmission. That project culminated in this truck : a 5.3 liter V8 with Automatic 4 Speed and all the ground effects. By the end of production, the 2009 Model's left the factory only representing a weak facsimile of the original concept with a handful of exterior bits. The Regency / RST thus became another casualty of the Recession January 2009. But, looking at the Positive Side with the demise of Regency so, went the fate of Cord, Duesenberg, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and many others...and today they became Major Collectables.
