"THE REAL DEAL" SPEEDSTER MODEL DEVELOPED BY
PORSCHE AS A STYLING EXERCISE INSPIRED BY THE VERY EARLY PORSCHE
RACE CARS AND THE 1989 'TRIBUTE' MODEL. THEY ARE IMMEDIATELY
RECOGNIZABLE AS ICONIC DUE TO THE (ALMOST
UGLY) "BATHTUB" STYLING OF THE HUMP BACK. SOURCES DISAGREE
ON EXACTLY HOW MANY WERE BUILT BUT, IT IS GENERALLY PUBLISHED* THAT PORSCHE BUILT 936 UNITS, 427
FOR U.S.A. PRODUCTION.
THIS WAS A FINAL EDITION OF THE DROPTOP, AIR COOLED SPEEDSTERS
BUILT
SO, THEIR
COLLECTIBILITY IS UNQUESTIONABLE. THE REINCARNATED '93-'94 PORSCHE
SPEEDSTER WAS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE REST. COMPARING
IT TO THE LAST EDITION (1989), WAY FEWER WERE BUILT

TO THE BODY: THE GAUGE PANEL, SEAT BACKS (SOMETIMES EVEN THE SEATBELTS)
AND GEAR LEVER / BOOT WERE ALL BLESSED WITH A CORRESPONDING SWIPE
OF COLOR.. YOU COULD ALSO ORDER THE "MULTI-COLORED INTERIOR
PACKAGE" AND GET SEAT FACES BATHED IN TWO-TONE
