50's ARC 2500 45 R.P.M. AUTO RECORD PLAYER SORRY, SOLD

THIS IS ONE UNIQUE ITEM. I SEARCHED FOR YEARS TO FIND A REAL 45 R.P.M. RECORD PLAYER FOR A CAR AS MY DAD HAD ONE WHEN I WAS A KID. WORD GOT OUT I WAS LOOKING AND SOMEONE CAME BACK TO OUR MUSEUM AND JUST SOLD ME ANOTHER ONE NEW-IN-THE-BOX FOR $1,100. NOW, I HAVE TWO- THIS ONE CAN GO: THE A.R.C. 25OO MODEL WAS MADE BY M.C. CO., INC. OF PARAMOUNT, CALIFORNIA. UNITS LIKE THESE WERE FIRST USED BY CHRYSLER-PLYMOUTH-DODGE IN THE MID-TO -LATE 50'S AS ONE OF THE FIRST PORTABLE RECORD PLAYERS FOR CARS KNOWN AS "HI-WAY HI-FI'S". IT IS UNKNOWN, BY MOST, THAT THESE AND THE RCA MODELS WERE ALSO USED BY PACKARD HENNEY COACH BUILDERS (HEARSE) COMPANY AS A "CURBSIDE CHAPEL MUSIC" SOURCE PLAYING FUNERAL HYMNS AT THE CEMETARY. IT WAS, TO SAY THE LEAST, AN UNUSUAL OPTION. THIS UNIT SHOWS SOME MINOR CORROSION ON THE TOP (WHICH IS UNSEEN WHEN MOUNTED) BUT, IS IN OVERALLVERY 'GOOD' CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT. IT IS SOLD "AS IS" FROM OUR MUSEUM COLLECTION. 12 VOLT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS WORKING WHEN I BOUGHT IT BUT, I CANNOT VERIFY. MOST WILL JUST MOUNT IT UNDER THE DASH FOR CAR SHOW VIEWING ( WITH A COUPLE OF 45 RECORDS) AND IT WILL WORK ON MOST ANY CAR (AS LONG AS YOU HAVE ROOM UNDER THE DASH). THESE GENERALLY SEEN FOR $700-$1,000 BUT, THIS ONE IS PRICED TO SELL. SIMPLE "L" BRACKETS WOULD MOUNT IT. APPROX.: 9" DEEP, 11 1/2" WIDE, 5 3/4" HIGH. QUESTIONS CALL 352-385-0049 10A-5P (EST). PRICED TO SELL AT $600.
